The talk about Hospitality issues goes on and on, while many small businesses struggle to keep afloat.

We had Brexit, Covid, misinformation and now a new war. As a Plant-Based business, we have gone from being wanted to being obscured and ignored. Is everything done via trends?  

 

I remember when plastic was demonised, and now it is everywhere again. The global changes are affecting our consistency regarding what is good for the planet and what is good for us.  

 

As part of our commitment to our country, we want to employ the disabled and younger individuals, but the doors are closed unless you are part of a charity or an already well-known organisation. Thriving new business-like barbers, nail salons, and others come with their own employees, so where is the opportunity for local people?

 

I am disheartened by the fact that being plant-based is becoming a weird choice, while it could be a lifesaving addition to someone's diet. I remember people refusing to try our drinks as they did not want to be seen as vegan or plant-based. In my view, we should all be plant-based at least three times per week, and ideally once per day.  

Misinformation and being bombarded by Farming programs is just incredible. We consume and use our own herbs. I totally respect people's food choices, but variety is the essence of life.

 

My business has suffered. Nevertheless, we will continue with our eco projects/events, packaging, and food. Our small town is changing, and I am optimistic that we will expand our message to new customers and new residents.

Local governments should increase help towards community incentive businesses like ours.  

 

The pic says a lot about how we have been feeling, but I will repair the tyre and continue, because I love what I do.
